For the level design, I got a sketch of the ship from Prof. Guido Kühn as a template. Based on this I sketched the rooms in the ship and roughly planned the first events for the game.
Based on my sketch I started to create the levels in the Unity Engine with 3D models of walls, portholes, and doors.
Using the white cubs seen in the picture, I limited the level size and walkways for the player, for a first test of the level.
Using the white cubs seen in the picture, I limited the level size and walkways for the player, for a first test of the level.
In the further process, I made a plan for occurring events.
Then I made more plans for the atmosphere of the game. Including the events for the outages of electricity and oxygen.
In the second plan for the atmosphere, I planned sounds and their source.
Finally, the level was filled with additional 3D objects to give the "wreck" something to live on.
